We are a cozy full-service equine boarding facility approximately one hour south of Downtown Houston, Texas.   One mile from the Gulf, your horse/horses will benefit from moderate coastal weather, with cool sea breezes in the summer and coastal warming (preventing most freezes) in the winter.  

The Iron Gaits Farm facility has been designed and built to provide an excellent environment for horses.  Our primary focus is "Specialized Horse Care" even for riders living far from our facility. We provide you with the peace of mind of knowing that your horse is comfortable and happy by keeping in contact with you via email and photos. 

Pastures are well drained with safe "no climb" fencing with an added electric wire along the top which is appropriate for youngsters as well as mature horses. The footing is sandy-loam and is firm and rock free, with ample grazing. Run in shelters are available to horses, and stalls are provided in inclement weather or as otherwise needed. The property backs up to Horseshoe Lake which adds a nice relaxed element of water.

    

The barn facilities include spacious 12 x 12 rubber matted stalls with automatic waterers, fans, unlimited shavings and unlimited coastal hay. The wash rack has hot and cold water, and the grooming area is equipped a ceiling fan and an industrial 48 inch wind machine is used during the summer. The grooming area is outfitted with rubber mats and horse vacuum.

  

Riding Outside:  
You can enjoy the outdoor all-weather arena.  It is a combination of sand, loam and shavings on a good base. It is lighted and fenced.  Arena grooming is provided regularly and is equipped with surround sound exterior speakers.

Iron Gaits Farm is within one hour of Houston Hobby Airport. In addition to our facilities, you will have access to beaches only a short drive away. Parking and riding are permitted on the beaches, and you have two islands to choose from. Surfside Beach (outside the city limits) and/or Bryan Park is also only a short haul away for additional riding adventures.
